Cessna Citation CJ3 / CJ3+
About
Defining the Modern Light Jet
The Citation CJ3 (and its follow-up, the CJ3+) was designed to be the ultimate owner-operator's aircraft: simple, fast, and incredibly efficient. Launched as an extension of the CJ2, the CJ3 added significant cabin length and wing area, allowing it to climb higher and fly further than its predecessors. The CJ3+ arrived later with a total avionics overhaul, solidifying the aircraft’s place as the "sweet spot" of the Citation family.
Efficiency Meets Capability
The CJ3 series is the "winning" choice for those who need to fly 1,800+ miles while maintaining the ability to land on incredibly short runways. It is famously "single-pilot certified," meaning it offers maximum flexibility for owners who enjoy flying themselves or for operators looking to reduce crew costs. Its natural laminar flow wing design provides a significant speed advantage while keeping fuel burn lower than almost any competitor in the segment.
Performance and Avionics
The Citation CJ3+ stands as the pinnacle of the CJ3 lineage, blending a spacious six-seat center-club configuration with impressive light-jet performance. Powered by two Williams FJ44-3A engines, it reaches a max cruise speed of 416 knotsand an NBAA IFR range of 2,040 nautical miles. While the original CJ3 utilizes the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21, the CJ3+ is upgraded to the Garmin G3000 suite, featuring touchscreen controls and integrated weather radar. With its ability to operate from runways as short as 3,180 feet, it offers unparalleled access to regional destinations.
