What are my options for Aircraft Management Companies?

March 14th, 2025

You have worked tirelessly over the course of your lifetime to provide security and freedom to your business and for your loved ones. Now the time has come to take the ultimate step toward maximizing the value of the one asset that we cannot control, time.

For many new aircraft owners, this is the sole reason for their decision to purchase an asset. How do I be more productive? How do I maximize the efficiency of my business? How do I spend more time with my Family in the process?

These are just some of the many questions that those considering an aircraft purchase may ask themselves. Once, the dream becomes a reality it can be one of the most valuable tools in your arsenal. The question then follows: How do I protect and maintain my newest, most valuable material asset to ensure the same security and freedom that I strive for professionally and personally?

One answer to this, may involve retaining an aircraft management company. A management company is one who specializes in running your own personal flight department, taking care of your aircraft, scheduling and completing maintenance, staffing it with pilots, coordinating your flight schedule, etc…so you do not have to. Remember, the whole reason you did this was to save time, not use more of it running a business you didn’t want to be in.

Aircraft management companies can be the trusted stewards of your aircraft. They can ensure all safety requirements are exceeded, vet the national pilot pool so that you have the most experienced, knowledgeable staff possible, and add value through the means of chartering your aircraft for supplemental revenue when you are not using it. When choosing an aircraft management company there are many things to consider, including:

• What is their safety track record?

• How many aircraft do they currently manage?

• How long have they been in business?

• Do they offer a dedicated concierge as a single point of contact?

• How robust is there charter or jet card platform?

• What can they add as far as value and mitigating your fixed costs?

• Do they perform all maintenance in house, or is anything third partied?

• Will your aircraft be hangered?

These are a just a few of the many that new aircraft owners may want to ask. OGARAJETS is one of the few brokerage firms that offers consultation in this regard.
